Dr. Diane Hislop-Chestnut is a Caymanian doctor with training and registration in the United Kingdom and the United States. She completed her pre-clinical medical studies in 2000 graduating from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland) with a BSc Medical Science with Honours. She then undertook her clinical medical studies at the University of Cambridge, graduating in 2003 with the MB BChir qualification.
Dr. Hislop-Chestnut worked in the UK for a year after graduation at the Crawley Hospital (Crawley) and Queen Elizabeth II Hospital (Welwyn Garden City), both near London, and became fully registered with the General Medical Council in 2004.
In 2005 Dr. Hislop-Chestnut relocated to the United States and did a residency in internal medicine at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. She became board-certified in internal medicine in 2008. Following her residency, she decided to sub-specialise and undertook a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, also at the Lahey Clinic. She completed her fellowship in the summer of 2010 and became board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism in 2010.
Dr. Hislop-Chestnut returned to Cayman in the summer of 2010 and is working in private practice at Palm Road Medical Limited. She is active in the community, volunteering as a director of the YMCA Cayman Islands. She is also active in the Caribbean Endocrine Society.
